December Round Up

December started with good intentions, I managed to complete nearly 2 weeks of Vlogmas and I still have some unedited footage which I hope to make into a video shortly. Sadly I became unwell and it is something with which I am still suffering now. However, a trip to the doctors on Christmas Eve resulting in a massive bag of medication meant that Christmas was not a complete disaster. This illness has meant that until now I haven’t felt like or had the energy to vlog/blog but I am here now with a list of ideas.

For me, Christmas was nice but low key. It was well spent with those that mean the most to me. I got lots of lovely and thoughtful presents the best of which I think is my Naked palette which was given to me by my boyfriend. I have never owned anything from urban decay so I am looking forward to experimenting more with this palette and the goody bag I got with it. I of course got lots of pajamas and socks as usual.

Now I am just trying to enjoy sales shopping from the comfort of my own home as I am not quite well enough to brave the shops yet. I have managed to find a few things but its not the same as being there in person. I am also looking to the New Year although for most the New Year consists of lots of celebrating and drinking (something I won’t be able to do) it is also a time for reflection. I will be bringing out a post about what I think 2014 has in store in day or two.

I hope that you all had a great Christmas!

Get the look: Miranda Kerr - Swarovski Advert

Taken from: Swarovski-Elements.com
So today I did a make up look inspired by this image I saw in a magazine. I think that it is just so natural and beautiful. The key is it make the skin look flawless. The look is an effortless nude lip and bright eyes.

These are the products I used:

I started by applying Triple Performing Face Emulsion by Benefit all over my face. On top of this I used The Porefessional by Benefit this helps to make the skin smooth and will help with the flawless appearance we are trying to achieve.
Then I used my favourite foundation of the moment which is lightweight and emulates the texture of the skin providing the flawless look. It is the Eau de Teint by L'Oreal. Next I used Fake up by Benefit under my eyes and on any blemishes but I'm having a bad under eye day so there is only so much it could do.
Next I used a light dusting of Dandelion blush by Benefit. In the picture isn't wearing a huge amount of blush but adding a light dusting adds a natural glow/flush and helps with the fresh dewy look we are trying to achieve. I set all of the above with a little bit of Rimmel Stay Matte powder.
Next I used my Colour Riche Eyeshadow Quad by L'Oreal in Nude Lingerie. I used the lightest colour all over my lid and the light brown in my crease and the darker brown to line the eyelid and waterline. Next I curled my eyelashes and used They're Real by Benefit on the top lashes and No7 Stay Perfect Long Lasting Volume mascara on the bottom lashes. Then, I neatened up my eyebrows with Master Shape Brow pencil by Maybelline.
I finished off the look with Pink in the Afternoon by Revlon and a small amount of Dandelion lipgloss by Benefit.

This is the finished look:

I hope that you have enjoyed this make up look and I think that it looks fairly true to the original image.

No7 High Shine lip gloss and L'Oreal Nude Magique Eau de Teint

Today I am here to review two products which are new (to me at least) I have now tried them enough times that I feel I can comment on them. I will be reviewing a lip gloss and a foundation.

This is a High Shine lip gloss by No7.

It is in the colour whisper. I haven’t really ever tried any of the No7 range but I am really enjoying this lip gloss. I don’t normally reach for lip gloss as I feel that is tends to be too shiny and glittery, obviously depending on which you choose but I really like this one. It is a bit like a better than you natural lip colour type gloss with some gold shimmer running through it. I think it looks lovely on its own or layered over a darker lip. Although it does need topping up if you plan to wear it all day I think it is a great product and great for Christmas parties. It doesn’t detract from the rest of your makeup which I think is another big plus point for this product. It also has a SPF of 15
.
The next product is a foundation by L’Oreal.

This is the new Nude Magique Eau de Teint. I have it in the shade 100 porcelain.  I think that this product has a lovely light weight feel and I tend to forget that I am wearing it. I use my real techniques buffing brush to apply it and it is really easy to apply. It looks quite dark when it first comes out of the bottle but when it is blended in, it matches my skin tone perfectly. It isn’t a full coverage product but I think it gives my skin an airbrushed look. I think it is key to use a primer to smooth the skin prior to applying this foundation as it really helps to a natural look otherwise the product can powder a little bit. I find that I only need a sweep of powder to set this foundation as it is shine free. It also has an SPF of 18.

In conclusion, I would definitely recommend both of these products and I look forward to continuing to use them.
